This forum was set up on the 23rd of February 2021. The aim of the forum is to gather people from all over the world who have Tandberg Equipment so that we can share information about Tandberg and make it easier to keep the equipment alive.

Do we need this forum? How can we develop it? Do it need other categories?

Any feedback is appreciated. 🙂

Yes we need it! What a superb idea. I have been thinking the same thing and trying to drum up interest for a project like this!

Categories, topics, yes a very good question.
I guess some topics could be:
Model specific questions
How to find spare parts
Questions on repairing
Enjoying your Tandberg (component matching i e..)

And many more. Let's brainstorm..

I've set up a structure. Any comments? OK for a start?

How about to add "3000 Series" into Tandberg model specific questions

Yes, it would be a great idea to have our own free service manual collection!
That is very important. There is the excellent collection on sportsbil.com/tandberg, but we should not all be dependent on one source, if something happens to that place. And not everyone knows about it. And there are also documents that are not available there, which you can find only in the Scandianvian Tandberg group on Facebook.
A dedicated service manual and document archive is almost a must. I can contribute some. Perhaps the owner of sportsbil would not mind to help.
How about it Stein Erik?

Yes, I've made a "User & service manuals" section. It's a good idea. Jens, do you have contact with the owner of Sportsbil?

No I don't have contact with him. But some other guys do (in the Tandberg group on FB).
Would be great if we could get all those files and have them here as well. But we should probably get his approval first.
And then arrange so that all members here can contribute (upload, or post to admin for upload).

Hello

I have quite a lot of user/service manuals/brochures ( TR20xx only ;( )  loaded from the different sources ( https://www.hifiengine.com/; http://www.tomania1953.com/49294688  and many more ). I don't recall any info that I cannot re-use it. Anyway it will be great to have it in one place. I am not sure, but it can be helpful to have it separate for each group of products not just one place with all what we may find. I am more than happy to share what I have.

@pawel Yes, it might be useful to seperate it in different groups. The challenge is that it will be perhaps too many groups. I don't know, we can do what will work best.

@pawel and Stein Erik, it is a brilliant idea to divide the manuals into groups! There are already many many in the sportsbil archive and in this forum I think we will increase it even more. I would think it is enough with the model series, for example: TR-2000, Huldra, TR-1000, older tube radios, TVs, marketing material, tape decks, reel-to-reel.. What do you think?

How about adding a sub-category under each of the model specific categories that allready exist?

@steinerikhanssen Hi, it makes sense to me . It will be much easier to find document. I also think that we should set up the proper subject format. It should be the same for all models. Like : 'model name in the format - xxxx' , type of the document - user manual, service manual, brochure, list part ) , language so eg: TR2030_UserManual_ENG. If we do not do it it will be difficult to find something

@steinerikhanssen
I am sceptic about having manuals under the model specific categories. Isn't there a risk it will drown in other threads? Or maybe it can be pinned to the top? But the optimal organization, I think, is to have a separate manuals category. Like it is now. What do you think?
I believe this archive will be very popular/important and many will come there to search.

Letting it all have the same format, as @Pawel says, is a good idea.

I´m quite sure the categories can be pinned at the top, so they will not drown in other threads. Making model specific categories under the “manual” category may be best. I agree.
