Hi, I´ve got a nice TR1000. It plays well except for one thing, it has sound in both speakers only when in Mono. In Stereo there is sound only in the left channel (speaker).

It´s the same for all inputs: Phono, FM, Tape1 and Tape2.

Using the balance I can hear sound in the right speaker too - but VERY low.

Any advice in where to start?

Hello

I faced the same problem in TR2000 series, it was almost always connected with the balance potentiometer ( not working properly ). As I recall the TR1000 is having the same type of potentiometer with a very thin contact blade which can be broken .....

Look at the schematics and I guess that the mono switch is connected to the balance potentiometer the same way as in the TR2000 series.

contact blade - small metal piece slips on the inside resistor tape.
